Share London Volunteer

The Role:

A significant number of our service users would like the opportunity to get out to a local coffee shop, for a walk to a local park or perhaps a quick trip to some local shops – but lack the confidence/ability to do this independently.

We are looking for volunteers that would be looking to help with this and spend some time offering a visually impaired person the opportunity to get out of their home for a while.

Due to the current covid-19 pandemic, we are currently looking for volunteers who would like to support isolated, visually impaired Londoners over the phone and we will be re instigating the social outing side of Share London as soon as is safe to do so.

The person:

You have excellent conversational/interpersonal skills, sensitivity and a strong commitment to the welfare of others. You are courteous, reliable and completely trustworthy.

How To Apply:

If you would like to become a Share London volunteer then please contact Elaine, our volunteer coordinator on:

"Being a Share London volunteer has made me look at things in a different way and given us both an excuse to delight in simple things, be it sitting on a swing, finding a peaceful and quiet part of town or just having a good conversation. No matter how busy I am it’s always something I look forward to."
