Our Annual Celebration

BlindAid's Annual Celebration is the largest social gathering of blind and visually impaired people in the UK.

Every September, we invite around 400 of our service users and co-colleagues to enjoy an afternoon of music, entertainment and a Westminster tea with us.

The afternoon is focussed on our service users and their stories, talents and achievements.

Service users have entertained the audience with stand up comedy, performed their own music and poetry, we have featured some pieces written by our community project creative writing groups and had performances from bands formed by service users.

We also talk to service users that have made great achievements – whether it is a successful journey through one of our community projects, becoming a volunteer with BlindAid to support other service users,  finding employment, achieving an academic qualification or overcoming challenging situations and circumstances to independence, we celebrate the lives and stories of the people that we work alongside.
