BlindAid has an exceptional team of friendly and understanding Home Visitors that make regular visits to our 500+ Service Users to provide emotional support and practical help where possible. We will visit people at home or in sheltered accommodation or residential/nursing homes.
All of our Home Visitors are paid members of staff who have been carefully selected, CRB checked, trained and all receive regular supervision.
Our Home Visitors take care to treat every service user as an individual.
The visiting service is free of charge.
We aim to provide visits that take place every two weeks and usually last about an hour,
A Home Visitor can help with such things as:
- Warm and friendly conversation
- Practical support – for example reading/writing correspondence
- Providing information on what’s going on locally – for example: Social clubs; local outings and events; leisure activities; lunch clubs etc
- Arranging the loan of audio equipment from the British Wireless for the Blind (subject to their criteria)
The Home Visiting service is available in the following boroughs:
- Hammersmith and Fulham
- Islington & The City
- Kensington and Chelsea
